Emergency support to the COVID 19 victims for the coastal people:

COVID-19 creates a huge negative impact on the livelihood of the coastal people. According to the Government's instruction, Bangladesh went under a national lockdown from 26th March to the end of June 2020 during that time people have lost their job, earning opportunities, and have no food stick. So they are passing a hard time and their overall nutrition has declined especially the women, children and the person with a disability is most sufferers. Due to the COVID-19, the adolescent especially the young girls are facing difficulties with personal hygiene issues as the market was closed and due to the limited transportation hygiene kits are not available and they cannot buy. FIA has conducted an assessment in its project areas in Satkhira and Magura districts.
Overall Project Goal: The overall project goal was to mitigate the suffering of the COVID 19 victims by providing emergency food and hygiene support to 2500 most vulnerable families and 400 adolescent girls of these families.
Achievements: The selected 2600 PG members and the community people received food and hygiene support which will help them to cope with the situation. Each of the families received the rice, lentil, soybean oil, detergent powder, and soap bars and the adolescent girls received a standard size two-pack of Sanitary napkins.
